CO-PRODUCING WITH THE CZECH REPUBLIC – SUPPORT FOR EUROPEAN MINORITY CO-PRODUCTIONS

WHAT’S NEW

Annual budget for minority co-productions: CZK 40 million (EUR 1.56 mil)

WHAT IS SUPPORTED

  • Feature, TV, animation and documentary films
  • International films at least partially produced in the Czech Republic using Czech goods and services
  • Films involving a Czech producer as a supplier of Czech creative elements or as a minority co-producer (contributing the required minority funds)
  • Official co-prodcution on the basis of a bilateral agreement or the European Convention on Cinematographic Co-production

THE FUND COUNCIL WILL CONSIDER

  • Czech artistic and technical participation
  • Czech elements or use of Czech locations and settings
  • The overall artistic quality of the film
  • Co-productions with Czech producers
  • The percentage of finanical support spent in the Czech Republic
  • Cinema distribution or broadcasting iin the Czech Republic

HOW TO APPLY

The Fund announces calls for Minority Co-production subsidies twice a year

Several projects we have co-produced were supported by Czech minority co-productions grant, for instance  A ROYAL AFFAIR (165.000 EUR) or SHAMER’S DAUGHTER (40.000 EUR)
